CHAPTER 1. Standing Rules
Rule 1. Revising the Rules
- These Standing Rules may be revised by the membership at a regular meeting of the club with any three-fifths majority vote.
- These rules are maintained by the Secretary and a copy of them may be requested by any member and provided by the secretary or the general manager at any time.
Rule 2.Prospective Members
- Members who have applied to join the club shall have their name listed in the newsletter the month before the vote for their induction to give current members awareness.
- The Membership and/or Board can bestow Honorary Memberships to persons performing outstanding service to the club. These individuals have full privileges of membership except for voting and longevity rights per Bylaws Article 16. (4/3/2002)
Rule 4.Meeting Starts
- The Regular Membership Meeting shall start at 7pm on the first Wednesday of each month with the Pledge of Allegiance and the Lord’s Prayer. The Board Meeting shall start with the same on its appointed day.
- Anytime there are discussions or decisions of important consequence, such as concerning the CREP program, 2 months notice in the newsletter should be given in order to best solicit membership input and awareness. (2/6/2002)
- The Christmas Party shall be on the 2nd Saturday of December, annually.
CHAPTER 4. Officers & Board
Rule 7.Newsletter Submissions
- Content for the newsletter is welcome and can be submitted to the Secretary by the 14th of each month for inclusion, especially event results, youth shooter news, 2A advocacy, members participating at shooting events elsewhere, new high scores or personal bests, etc.
- To conduct the business of the club in between membership meetings, the board may authorize motions to spend up to $8,000 per items. (2021)

Rule 10.Monthly Shoots
- The club hosts monthly shoots in 5-Stand, Skeet, Trap, Pistol, Bench Rest 50, Varmint, and Youth .22 shoots. There are also Seasonal Night Leagues for Trap & Skeet. Additional events are encouraged to not interfere with standing shoots but the committees are encouraged to deconflict plans prior to firming up dates.
- Committees should plan and draft schedules in November & December and report Next Year events and dates to the Scheduling Committee and Secretary for publishing in the December & January Newsletters for updating the club calendar. The Scheduling Committee may need to resolve any facility conflicts.
- The Clubhouse should be open and accessible to members during event hours for multi-day Clay Target Shoots. (7/7/2004)
- Club Shoot Entry Fees should be for participation only. Any Lewis Class monies should be optional & separate for the club/fun/routine events. (3/3/2004)
- New Disciplines or Events not yet normally or routinely held at Salisbury Gun Club should announce intentions and plans to the Board to ensure feasibility. At least 60 days’ notice is strongly recommended.
Rule 15.Youth Shooters
- Youth Shooters, aged less than 18 years old, may shoot clay target rounds at a price as determined by the Board of Directors. (currently $3 per coin or round as of August 2022.)
- Collegiate Athletes may pay member pricing for shooting fees with proof of collegiate shooting team membership.
- The club supports and works with 4-H, American Legion Air Rifle, the SGC Youth Team, and other teams to provide a home for youth shooters to foster and grow in the shooting sports.
CHAPTER 10. Clubhouse & Grounds & Ranges
Rule 18.Usage of the Clubhouse
- The Clubhouse is available for rent to members for events when the club is closed for a nominal fee.
- The Clubhouse is utilized to host several Hunter Safety Courses via the MD DNR annually, free of charge.
- Any training classes or shooting classes that are hosted at the club and require use of the clubhouse are charged a $20 fee per student. This fee can be adjusted or waived by the Board.
- Misuse of equipment or damage incurred to club property may result in a fee or bill of repair or replacement charged to the responsible party as determined by the Board of Directors.
- The Board shall name a Chief Range Safety Officer for the oversight of training new members in the usage of the Rifle and Pistol Range. The Chief RSO shall coordinate other safety officers in the routine schedule of training new members in safe conduct and certifying them.
- Salisbury Gun Club is not responsible for private property left at the gun club on fields, ranges, or inside the clubhouse.
